T-Systems Carries Out 300 TB Migration To Microsoft® SharePoint® 2010 And SharePoint Online With DocAve®

T-Systems, Deutsche Telekom’s corporate customer arm, was tasked with migrating roughly 300 TB of content from MOSS 2007 and multiple legacy systems (OpenText LiveLink, Exchange public folders, file shares) to a hybrid SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint Online environment for a global client with 150,000 users. The primary challenge was performing a full‑fidelity migration—preserving metadata, security, and version history—while staging the move to the cloud to minimize connection complexity and maintain business continuity.

T-Systems implemented AvePoint’s DocAve (DocAve Migrator and DocAve for SharePoint Online) with planning and support from AvePoint Partner Services, enabling staged migrations, comprehensive mapping and reporting, and seamless transfer of content created during database read‑only periods. The project migrated 50 TB while staying on schedule to complete 300 TB by 2013, preserved full data fidelity, reduced migration complexity, and delivered a managed hybrid SharePoint environment with strong technical support.
