Richtek Simplifies Management and Optimizes Storage for 5.5 TB Microsoft® SharePoint® 2013 Environment with DocAve®

Richtek, a Taiwan-based power management IC design company, adopted SharePoint 2013 to centralize document and project management but faced challenges scaling and securing a growing environment. They needed enterprise-level protection, simplified administration and reporting, storage optimization for an expected 5.5 TB platform, and a way to surface legacy file data in SharePoint without costly migrations.

Richtek implemented AvePoint’s DocAve suite (Administrator, Backup & Restore, Connector, Report Center, and Storage Manager) to provide an integrated management, protection, and reporting platform. DocAve Connector exposed 1 TB of legacy file-share content in SharePoint without migration, Storage Manager externalized BLOBs to reduce content-database storage and improve performance, Backup & Restore enabled granular, metadata-preserving restores, and Policy Enforcer/Report Center automated governance and monitoring—delivering cost savings, easier administration, and a scalable environment for ~400 users.
