Prairie South School Division, a 19-community district in south-central Saskatchewan serving 6,700 students and 1,400 staff, deployed Microsoft SharePoint 2010 to centralize collaboration and its corporate intranet. With administrators new to the platform and limited time for platform management, the division faced challenges auditing usage, quickly moving complex sites from test to production, applying permissions in bulk, and keeping large files out of SQL to maintain databases below 200 GB.
The division implemented AvePoint’s DocAve modules (Auditor, Content Manager, Administrator, Extender) to address these needs. DocAve Auditor tracked user activity to improve adoption, Content Manager copied sites between environments in minutes, Administrator enabled bulk permission updates in seconds, and Extender offloaded BLOBs larger than 1 MB to SAN storage to keep SQL under 200 GB—while support ensured rapid issue resolution and the environment is now ready to scale to roughly 8,000 users.
