Ngee Ann Polytechnic Uses DocAve® To Protect Its SharePoint Content And Infrastructure

Ngee Ann Polytechnic, a leading higher-education institution in Singapore, deployed Microsoft Office SharePoint Server across a 14-server farm to centralize documents, intranet and collaboration. They faced a major challenge: MOSS’s Recycle Bin and manual STSADM recovery were slow and cumbersome, making item-level restorations difficult and risking loss of important metadata and timestamps.

In March 2009 the polytechnic implemented AvePoint DocAve Backup and Restore, gaining fast, granular restores that preserve full metadata. Restore times dropped from as much as an hour to about five minutes, administrators regained time to expand SharePoint use, and responsive AvePoint support helped ensure a smooth rollout and greater confidence in the platform.
