NEC Corporation, a global leader in IT and network technologies, deployed an internal SharePoint 2010 social network ("nbook") used by about 1,300 users across 37 offices in 30 countries. The team needed centralized, automated reporting of user activity across 21 site collections and a way to quickly aggregate, separate, and migrate content while preserving permissions, timestamps, and other metadata—functions not well supported by SharePoint’s native tools.

By implementing AvePoint’s DocAve Report Center and DocAve Content Manager, NEC automated collection and consolidation of audit and IIS logs for analysis and performed folder- and site-level restructures that retained full data fidelity. The solution delivered consolidated activity reporting across all site collections, enabled swift content restructuring on demand, and preserved permissions and metadata for all users—improving governance and preparing the environment for future SharePoint upgrades.
