Microsoft Technology Centers (MTC) needed to migrate its SharePoint 2007 content to an internally hosted MSIT SharePoint 2010 instance but faced limits on custom applications that made a direct transfer risky. The team required a fast, lossless migration that preserved metadata, custom lists and permissions, and could be scheduled to run off-hours to avoid disrupting global operations.
