Lassonde Industries, a Québec-based food and beverage manufacturer with about 2,000 employees, migrated its intranet from an in-house system to SharePoint 2007 and began upgrading to SharePoint 2010. Administrators found SharePoint’s native tools cumbersome for enterprise needs: security and permission changes had to be done site-by-site, moving customizations and content between environments was time-consuming, and backups were limited to databases and complex to schedule.

Lassonde deployed AvePoint’s DocAve modules (Administrator, Content Manager, Backup & Restore) to centralize administration, move content and customizations seamlessly, and schedule full and granular backups with full fidelity (metadata, permissions, versions). The solution saved about eight hours when moving content and roughly five hours on security updates, enabled item-level restores without full database restores, and provided responsive support—positioning the company to expand users and meet future compliance needs.
