GFA Consulting Group Flexibly Protects Its Vital Microsoft® SharePoint® Content With DocAve®

GFA Consulting Group, a 350‑person German consulting firm (with 15‑person IT subsidiary GFA SysCom) deployed Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 to centralize documents and collaboration but found native STSADM backups and Microsoft Data Protection Manager inadequate. They needed a simple, GUI‑driven data protection solution that could run flexible schedules and restore individual items, lists, libraries or sites — including metadata, security and version history — without lengthy staging and reconstitution.

After a 30‑day trial, GFA implemented AvePoint DocAve Backup and Restore in January 2010. DocAve’s flexible full/incremental/differential scheduling and Time Restore Controller let administrators quickly restore content directly to production with full fidelity via a point‑and‑click interface.
