The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), a nonprofit R&D organization serving the electricity industry, needed to upgrade its SharePoint 2010 intranet and a highly customized external member portal to SharePoint 2013. The complexity of the environment and SharePoint’s limited native backup/restore capabilities made the migration and protection work impractical without a third‑party solution.
