ATPI Eases Transition to Microsoft® SharePoint® by Restructuring 400,000 Documents with KPN Consulting and DocAve®

ATPI, a global travel management company with 1,200 employees across 60+ offices, needed to consolidate and restructure its SharePoint environment after an upgrade from MOSS 2007 to SharePoint 2010. End-user data was spread across four web applications, 36 site collections and 10 content databases (about 460 GB), including a single document library of 400,000 items; native export/import tools lacked the performance and flexibility to complete the reorganization within the one-weekend migration window.

KPN Consulting implemented AvePoint’s DocAve Content Manager to split and relocate content into the new single web application, running 18 combined migration jobs (baseline plus a later delta pass) that preserved full fidelity, metadata and security. The approach met the service window, avoided manual rework, improved navigation, authentication and findability, and accelerated SharePoint 2010 adoption across the organization.
