UMCHS makes the switch to Avast Business, deploys security services in one-fourth the time

Umatilla-Morrow Head Start, Inc. (UMCHS) is a non-profit serving low-income children and families across 16,000 square miles with about 250 employees. Facing limited IT resources and a need to deliver security and remote management efficiently and affordably, UMCHS’s IT director Mike Snyder replaced Symantec Business Edition with Avast Business Antivirus and its cloud-based management console to get advanced protection that could be deployed and managed remotely.

Avast Business delivered the antivirus, sandboxing and a cleaner cloud console that let UMCHS group devices by location, monitor threats, and automate administration; the agency deployed AV services in one-fourth the time it took with Symantec, gained better technical support and a stronger feature-to-price value, and used blocked-threat data to educate staff—results that led UMCHS to sign a three-year contract with Avast.
