Regent College improves security and efficiency using Avast Business Antivirus and Management Console

Regent College, a Vancouver-based international graduate theological school serving over 600 students, faced a growing risk from crypto‑locking ransomware such as CryptoLocker across its more than 130 workstations. IT Director Cam Tucker and his three-person team needed stronger, easily managed protection, so the college upgraded from the free product to Avast Business Antivirus and the cloud-based management console to better prevent and survive ransomware incidents.

Avast deployed Avast Business Antivirus with its cloud management console, including Behavior Shield to detect and block ransomware activity; after rollout the college reported improved detection and protection against CryptoLocker and other malware, greater confidence in real‑time threat monitoring, and estimated efficiency gains from easy deployment and management via the Avast console.
