Vanderlande improves track & trace with package handling application

Vanderlande, based in Veghel, the Netherlands, is a global leader in airport baggage and parcel sorting systems that handles millions of items daily. Its sites worldwide relied on manual recording and limited ERP access—especially for contractors—leading to lost or unrecorded materials, costly delays, disrupted schedules and inconsistent processes across locations.

Avanade developed a simple, cross-platform Xamarin barcode-scanning app that registers packages (including storage location), works offline and syncs with the ERP when online, and accepts only Vanderlande barcodes. The rollout delivered a user-friendly track-and-trace system that reduced errors, sped up issue detection and administration, lowered costs, improved on-time deliveries and received positive feedback from supervisors and site users.
