TUI’s Specialist Division, part of TUI Travel Plc., faced fragmented finance operations after growing through acquisitions and running four different accounting systems. The finance team spent excessive time reconciling disparate reports, dealt with multiple user interfaces, outsourced invoice scanning, and risked missing supplier discounts, creating inefficiencies and extra costs.
Avanade implemented Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 in under five months, consolidating finance, procurement and expenses for about 100 users and automating data imports from the booking system. The new platform delivered a single reporting set, eliminated outsourced scanning, reduced headcount, improved payment accuracy and staff flexibility, and generated at least £80,000 a year in savings.
