Styrolution Group, a global leader in styrenics, needed to modernize and harmonize its IT landscape to provide secure, stable, and familiar user access to consolidated, up-to-date business information worldwide. The company’s priorities were a single, highly secure enterprise data warehouse for consistent reporting and analysis, a modern email/cloud infrastructure to replace legacy systems, and a unified intranet and collaboration platform while preserving users’ familiar environments.

Avanade implemented a three‑part solution: an enterprise data warehouse on SQL Server 2012 Fast Track, a SharePoint 2010 intranet and collaboration layer, and a Microsoft cloud infrastructure including Exchange365 and Lync, alongside Windows 7 and Office 2010 roll‑outs. The EDWH went live on Jan 1, 2013 after a nine‑month delivery, the global intranet launched in May 2013, and email migration completed by December 2013; employees now have self‑service access to continuously updated SAP data (with Excel as the familiar front end), larger mailboxes and a more user‑friendly mail service, delivered on time and within budget.
