Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS) is a global provider of geophysical services that helps oil companies find offshore oil and gas reserves. With offices in over 25 countries and three core business units, PGS struggled to present a unified face to clients: previous CRM efforts failed to gain regional buy-in, users faced poor system performance, and the company needed a way to manage complex, multimillion-dollar tender processes and incorporate data from a legacy chartering system (BidBase).
Avanade took over PGS’s Microsoft Dynamics CRM, provided worldwide support, and fixed infrastructure issues by moving servers to Houston (improving response times by ~50%), built out Dynamics’ opportunity management for multiple business units, and integrated BidBase using SQL, .NET and custom workflows. The result was stronger adoption, much better transparency and reporting across regions, faster tender coordination, reduced paperwork, and more efficient opportunity management.
