PESA introduces valuable tool to advance health and safety in the workplace

PESA, the Petroleum Equipment & Services Association representing about 200 global oilfield services and equipment companies, needed a secure way for members to benchmark workplace health and safety metrics—things like TRIR, lost time, sick days and fatalities—but had no means to compare anonymous peer data. Data confidentiality was paramount, this was PESA’s first cloud initiative, and the association required a partner with end-to-end Microsoft and industry expertise to deliver under tight timelines and changing requirements.

Avanade developed a Microsoft Azure-based, responsive benchmarking app in eight weeks, using Azure BYOI and Azure SQL for security and Accenture reporting for exportable analytics. The platform provides granular, anonymous filtering and peer-to-peer comparisons accessible on desktop and mobile; after launch PESA ran targeted communications and secured initial sign-ups from 10% of members, delivering a new tool for gap analysis, best-practice adoption and positioning PESA as a trusted industry leader while planning program growth.
