Linde MH becomes more agile and efficient with new Power BI platform

Linde (China) Forklift Truck Co., Ltd (Linde MH), a KION Group subsidiary with over 135 locations, struggled to get timely, accurate business insight from its SAP BW data warehouse. Reporting was manual and costly—each department relied on up to 12 full‑time staff to pull Excel reports that were often weeks out of date and hard to share—so, lacking in‑house upgrade skills, Linde engaged Avanade to modernize its analytics.

Avanade deployed Microsoft SQL Server and a cloud‑hosted Power BI platform on Azure with a phased five‑month rollout (starting with sales, service and finance) and executive dashboards for key KPIs. The new self‑service reporting has 50 initial users, is expected to save roughly one FTE per department, reduces IT backlog, delivers near‑real‑time, more accurate reports that are easy to share, and gives leadership the agility to improve forecasting and operations—Linde is now considering standardizing on Power BI.
