LEWA Group, a Germany‑based manufacturer of pumps and fluid metering systems with 14 subsidiaries, over 80 sales partners and about 1,100 employees, faced fragmented internal communications and inconsistent administrative processes as it grew globally. Information was stale (a quarterly newsletter) and each site ran its own manual processes, creating delays, extra costs and poor project collaboration.
LEWA partnered with Avanade to build a Microsoft SharePoint intranet integrated with Active Directory, delivered via a phased rollout with training and awareness campaigns. The solution achieved up to 80% daily employee adoption, standardized and automated admin tasks (visitor registration, absence notification, procurement), boosted transparency and engagement, improved international project management, and created a platform for further digitization.
