A Avanade Case Study
Lotus F1 Team builds and rebuilds 30,000-part race cars where shaving seconds can decide outcomes. With IT consuming about 10% of its budget, the team needed to streamline and integrate technology and data processes, capture post-event and trackside information more efficiently, and free designers and engineers from routine tasks so they could focus on improving car performance.
Avanade implemented agile development practices, retooled design workflows and created a single source for track and test data. The changes enabled 46 application releases before the season opener (the team’s fastest rate), saved more than 200 design man-hours, and cut data-processing time by 75%, allowing staff to shift from administrative work to performance-focused engineering.
