Gemeente Etten-Leur - Customer Case Study

The municipality of Etten-Leur, located in the heart of the West-Brabant region with more than 40,000 residents, aimed to optimise services for residents, institutions and businesses by improving customer orientation, efficiency and results. Although staff had many tools at their disposal, they often could not make effective use of them, so Etten-Leur engaged Avanade to define the proper infrastructure and exact system requirements through a focused workshop with municipal managers.

Avanade’s practical workshop produced a clear design and implementation plan: retain Microsoft Exchange® and upgrade from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007, migrate workstation policies and printing from Novell Netware to Microsoft Windows, and develop an Active Directory to assign network policies. The migration and Active Directory deployment established a uniform Microsoft platform that helps staff use software more effectively, enables closer collaboration with Roosendaal (from early 2009), and supports SharePoint testing and the municipality’s search for a new document management system.
