To address this, the company engaged Accenture and Avanade to deliver a global workspace program—completed in 16 months, on time and under budget—with minimal disruption.
The solution upgraded more than 15,000 workstations and rolled out a unified Microsoft-based platform including SharePoint intranets (one global and ~30 local), two customer websites, team sites and document management, plus modern communications (IM, video conferencing, Lync) and cloud-enabled Outlook. The result was a single, easy-to-use collaboration environment with no increased costs, high utilization and employee satisfaction, faster teamwork across the enterprise, and successful adoption supported by change management and training for 24,000 employees (including 2,000 added through acquisition).
