Edenred, the global leader in prepaid corporate services and creator of the Ticket Restaurant® voucher, operates in 41 countries and manages employee benefits and loyalty programs for millions of users. In China it had amassed vast transactional data and faced growing demand from enterprise clients—especially in FMCG—for actionable customer insights, prompting Edenred to find a way to turn idle data into a loyalty-marketing differentiator.

Avanade scoped and built a Recommendation Engine on a Microsoft stack (SQL Server, SharePoint, PowerView, Analysis Services) to segment members, surface self-service BI reports, and generate automated, opt-in recommendations for cross-sell and upsell. The solution improved personalized service at point of sale, cut campaign costs and time-to-market, created a new revenue stream, delivered positive ROI in the China pilot, and is now being scaled across industries and geographies—benefiting over 20 million opt-in members in China alone.
