Clariant, a global specialty-chemicals company with ~16,200 employees across 100+ countries, faced the challenge of modernizing its desktop and collaboration environment—moving from a Lotus Domino platform to a state-of-the-art Microsoft stack—to improve global communication, data transparency and productivity for about 15,000 users within an ambitious timeframe. Clariant engaged Avanade and Accenture to support planning, technical configuration, deployment and change management.

The OurWorkspace program rolled out Windows 7, Office 2010, Exchange 2010, Lync and SharePoint 2010 using five technology streams plus centralized program management, testing, pilot deployments and a 12‑language training and communications toolkit. Within six months the program established the core global rollout for 15,000 desktops, delivering a modern, easier-to-manage platform with strong user adoption and a foundation for future collaboration investments.
