Chiyoda powers-up with unified identity tools for overseas offices

Chiyoda Corporation, a major Japanese engineering firm and global leader in LNG plant construction, faced productivity and security problems from having multiple, Japan-centric Microsoft Active Directory instances across its overseas offices. Employees juggled different logins and IT struggled to manage access quickly and securely as the company expanded its global projects.

Avanade was engaged to deliver a unified AD solution and, over a five-month pilot-to-full rollout (starting in the Philippines), consolidated domains, standardized account types and unified password/lockout rules using Quest Migration Manager and close site collaboration. The migration streamlined account administration, clarified IT roles, strengthened access security, ensured business continuity, enabled single sign-on and paved the way for broader rollout and additional initiatives like secure BYOD (Intune) and SharePoint file sharing.
