SATS ELIXIA, a Nordic fitness operator with more than 160 clubs and 435,000 members across Norway, Sweden and Finland, needed to scale rapidly and support a merger without growing on-premises IT or its staff. To do that it adopted a cloud-first strategy and prioritized moving email and Microsoft Office infrastructure to the cloud.

Avanade migrated 4,200 employees to Microsoft Office 365 in three months—deploying Exchange Online, Lync Online and SharePoint Online with interoperability to Dynamics CRM and ongoing enablement of features like Yammer. The move improved email availability and reliability, enabled the merger by adding Elixia’s 2,800 employees in 45 days, and avoided additional IT hires—integrating roughly 40% more staff while keeping IT lean and refocusing investment on customer service.
