Treasury Wine Estates (TWE) is a global wine company with 80+ brands, operations in 16 countries and about AU$1.7B in revenue. TWE needed to migrate its on‑premise messaging to Exchange Online to remove the commoditised burden of mail management from IT, free the team for higher‑value work, minimise disruption to users and align the move with a desktop refresh to Windows 7.

Avanade was engaged to design and execute a hybrid Exchange/Office 365 migration using SSO, DirSync and Avanade Connected Methods, leveraging a Global Delivery Network and managed services to run off‑hour migrations. More than 3,500 mailboxes were migrated with minimal disruption, delivering a 50x increase in mailbox size, reduced on‑prem hardware and operating costs, improved availability, and readiness to adopt additional Office 365 and Azure solutions (including a stable Sitecore website on Azure).
