Avanade Helps PEXA Make Property Transactions Easier

PEXA (Property Exchange Australia) built a national electronic conveyancing platform to let all participants lodge and settle property transactions electronically, reducing paper, errors and settlement delays and delivering up to $250M in potential annual industry savings. To support more than one million transactions a year, PEXA needed a scalable financial management system that could handle settlements, automated fees and payments to Land Registries, interfaces with financial institutions, and standard accounting and reporting.

Avanade implemented Microsoft Dynamics AX to replace PEXA’s legacy systems, automating general ledger, reporting, invoicing, accounts payable/POs, fixed assets and complex integrations with banks and Land Registries. The solution went live in 2013 and rolled out across states through 2014–15, enabling online mortgages, discharges and lodgements, faster electronic settlements, stronger back-office controls, digital expense and approval workflows, and a scalable platform praised by PEXA’s CFO.
