Preview of the Westermann Case Study

Westermann publishes 20,000 digital activities with Avallain

Westermann, a major German educational media group, faced the challenge of digitally enhancing their highly successful "Denken und Rechnen" mathematics course to meet evolving learner behavior and system requirements. They needed a flexible, interactive digital solution that offered interactive learning, instant feedback, and progress reporting, all while harmonizing with their high-quality print edition and working within tight publishing deadlines. To achieve this, they partnered with the vendor Avallain.

Avallain implemented a solution using their Avallain Unity architecture to build a state-of-the-art learning platform and deployed Avallain Author for content creation. This allowed for the synchronous production of fully interactive digital textbooks that maintained the print edition's standards while adding unique learning paths and resources. The result was the successful launch of "Denken und Rechnen Interaktiv," used by thousands of students and teachers, with almost 20,000 digital activities created. The platform was extremely well-received, providing a versatile and enriching digital experience that supported teaching and learning both in and out of the classroom.
