Case Study: Crocs achieves automated, accurate sales tax for 145 retail locations with Avalara AvaTax

A Avalara Case Study

Preview of the Crocs Case Study

Crocs - Customer Case Study

Crocs, a global footwear manufacturer selling across all 50 U.S. states, every Canadian province, and internationally, was manually tracking and updating sales tax rates for about 145 retail locations each month. As the company and its retail footprint grew, that manual process became unsustainable and error-prone, prompting concerns about who would handle the automation, how rates would be calculated, and how integration with their Epicor POS would work.

Crocs implemented Avalara AvaTax (with CertCapture) integrated into their Epicor retail solution and went live in just over 30 days. The non‑IT sales tax manager now uses Avalara’s dashboard to set up companies and product lines, support has been strong, and the automated system reliably returns the correct product tax rates—eliminating monthly manual updates and improving accuracy across U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.
