Mann + Hummel, a global manufacturer with a major production site in Marklkofen, needed a better way to manage software and documentation across its highly automated filter production lines. Despite using an MES and running continuous three-shift operations, the team faced difficulties keeping machine software versions current and quickly accessible, which created maintenance delays and production inefficiencies. AUVESY-MDT provided the version control and data management system used to solve this challenge.

With AUVESY-MDT’s version control and data management software, Mann + Hummel centralized software version control, backed up machine recipes and parameters, restricted access to critical settings, and enabled faster remote maintenance and disaster recovery. The scripting interface also allowed custom check-in/check-out routines to fit local needs. As a result, repair times were significantly reduced, maintenance became more preventive and event-driven, and overall productivity improved, with the time saved during disruptions far outweighing the documentation effort.
