Emschergenossenschaft, the German water association behind a large network of wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and flood control facilities, needed a better way to manage a highly heterogeneous automation landscape while meeting strict IT security requirements for critical infrastructure. AUVESY-MDT provided its version control and backup software to help centralize data management, protect ICS systems, and support faster recovery and maintenance across the organization.

Using AUVESY-MDT, Emschergenossenschaft integrated more than 3,500 projects and about 5,000 components into a unified platform, with detailed documentation, SmartCompare version comparison, and supplier check-out/check-in tracking for external work. The result was regular backup of all digital components, around 120 snapshots per day for interconnected plants, quicker fault isolation within minutes in most cases, and improved collaboration for about 150 users, helping Emschergenossenschaft operate more efficiently and securely while complying with the IT Security Act.
