Braas GmbH, a construction materials manufacturer with 17 sites, runs its clay roof tile production in Obergräfenhain around the clock and needed a reliable way to manage automation data across six highly automated production lines. With continuous operations, limited maintenance windows, and the risk of outdated or missing controller data, the company needed better version control, documentation, and backup management. AUVESY-MDT’s AMDT software was introduced to support these requirements.

AUVESY-MDT implemented centralized data management with regular automatic backups, version control, and traceable documentation for PLCs, drives, sensors, and safety components. Since 2018, Braas has used a central server for backups across locations, with 58 backups regularly created and 530 components stored in the system. The result has been faster recovery, fewer synchronization errors, improved safety and transparency, and significant time savings that reduced the need for additional staff at the site.
