AUVESY-MDT worked with an automotive supplier that needed a more reliable way to protect production data and reduce downtime across a highly integrated international manufacturing network. After a rebuild left programming data unbacked up, a later malfunction caused several days of downtime, highlighting the need for stronger version control, backup, and maintenance support.

Using AUVESY-MDT’s version control, backup, comparison, and auto-imaging capabilities, the company now backs up about 1,300 jobs a day, including 200 from Codesys controllers, and creates monthly disaster recovery disk images for around 450 Windows computers. AUVESY-MDT also enabled daily data comparisons and direct access in isolated networks, improving data currentness, speeding recovery, saving maintenance time, and supporting rapid restoration across roughly 14,600 versioned components.
