Varner Leads Automated Warehouse Fashion Distribution

Varner Group, a leading Scandinavian fashion retailer, faced the challenge of managing logistics for its numerous brands from separate manual warehouses across Europe. Seeking to streamline and consolidate operations, they partnered with vendor AutoStore to implement a high-density automated storage and retrieval system as the centerpiece of a new central distribution hub.

The solution implemented by AutoStore, empowered by Swisslog, consisted of multiple grids of robots and bins to automate storage and order fulfillment. This allowed Varner to easily scale capacity, first by doubling it and later by adding a third, larger grid. The result is one of the highest-performing AutoStore systems in the world, capable of handling 11,500 order lines per hour to serve both a growing e-commerce channel and 1,200 stores with speed and precision.
