A AutoStore Case Study
Styleboom, a Germany-based online fashion retailer, faced significant challenges with manual order picking in their warehouse, which resulted in high employee stress, inefficient processes, and a high error rate. With rising demand for their Seventyseven streetwear brand and a need for a new facility, they required an innovative, space-saving automated solution to increase capacity and throughput. AutoStore was selected to provide their automated warehouse system to address these issues.
The solution implemented by AutoStore was a modular grid system using robots to retrieve bins from vertical stacks, which drastically reduced the required floor space. The system allowed Styleboom to cut their planned shelving area from 4,500 m² to 1,300 m², a 70% improvement in space utilization. Furthermore, the automated system enabled 14 employees to efficiently pick 6,000 error-free orders daily, a volume that previously required 80-90 staff. AutoStore also streamlined staff training to just 30 minutes and efficiently managed the returns process.
