Sport Conrad, an international multi-channel retailer for outdoor and winter sports, faced challenges with manual order picking and inefficient use of space in its logistics center. To optimize efficiency and ergonomics for its growing order volumes, the company partnered with intralogistics expert Kardex to implement an AutoStore automated storage and retrieval system.

The solution from Kardex involved a highly efficient AutoStore grid with 16 R5+ robots managing 18,791 bins, which increased storage capacity within a 700 m² footprint. The system eliminated extensive employee travel time and streamlined the picking process through ergonomic workstations. This allowed Sport Conrad to significantly boost order fulfillment efficiency and provide noticeable relief for its employees, all while achieving a more sustainable and resource-saving operation.
