Richter+Frenzel, a German wholesaler of plumbing and building supplies, sought to create a future-proof logistics center to remain agile in a competitive market. To optimize its storage and order fulfillment processes for small parts at its Reichertshofen facility, the company partnered with AutoStore to implement an automated warehouse system.

AutoStore implemented a solution comprising 45 robots and 50,000 bins to automate storage and order picking. The system, which includes a connected conveyor for dispatch preparation, significantly optimized storage space, reduced picking error rates, and lowered labor and energy costs. The results for Richter+Frenzel include a completely automated picking process and a centralized distribution system that has simplified its nationwide operations.
