A AutoStore Case Study
Puma, a major global sports retailer, faced a challenge with its growing e-commerce demand, which was rapidly exceeding the capacity of its Torrance, California distribution center. The company partnered with the automation vendor AutoStore to find a solution that would increase its storage and fulfillment capabilities to better serve its customer base.
AutoStore implemented its Black Line automated storage and retrieval system at Puma's new Indianapolis facility, creating one of the largest grids in North America. The solution delivered a 10x increase in warehouse capacity, enabling the fulfillment of over 150,000 units per day and 1 million units per month. The results included a 92% improvement in fulfillment speed, a 99% order accuracy rate, an 85% reduction in energy costs, and significantly improved employee satisfaction.
