A AutoStore Case Study
Parts Authority, a leading distributor of automotive parts, sought to expand its operations into the lucrative Northeast market with a new 21,000 m² logistics center. Their challenge was that traditional manual warehousing would be too slow and inefficient to meet their e-commerce goals and would present staffing difficulties. To minimize costs and maximize efficiency, they turned to vendor AutoStore for an automated warehouse system.
The solution implemented by AutoStore consisted of a grid-based system utilizing 90 robots to manage over 80,000 bins, which was integrated with conveyor technology and put-to-light picking stations. This system from AutoStore delivered transformative results, quadrupling picking and putaway rates and increasing expansion capacity fivefold. The facility achieved a dense storage footprint and a daily throughput of over 10,000 orders, successfully launching Parts Authority's expansion.
