Ingram Content Group, a major distributor of printed and digital content, faced significant challenges with limited facility space and labor dependency, especially during seasonal peaks. To prepare for future growth and reduce operating costs, they partnered with AutoStore and implementation partner KPI Solutions to implement a high-density automated storage and retrieval system.

AutoStore's solution featured a grid system with 160 R5 robots that retrieve and store inventory from over 80,000 bins, serviced by 31 ports. This allowed Ingram to store a greater variety of SKUs in a smaller footprint. The implementation from AutoStore delivered major benefits, including a more efficient use of space, higher labor productivity, improved order accuracy, and reduced labor requirements, positioning the company for scalable future expansion.
