How automation helped Rohlik 2X productivity and beat the competition

The Czech e-grocery company Rohlík faced the challenge of expanding its operations to meet growing customer demand for fast, accurate deliveries. They needed a high-speed, automated solution for their new Prague fulfillment center that could handle a wide range of ambient and chilled items. To achieve this, they partnered with integrator Swisslog to implement an AutoStore automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS).

Swisslog implemented a tailored AutoStore solution featuring two separate grids for ambient and chilled storage, all managed by their SynQ software. The implementation was completed in just nine months. The results were significant, with Rohlík achieving a twofold increase in overall productivity and a threefold growth in picking productivity. This allowed them to pick an average order in one minute and deliver 10% of all orders within 60 minutes, solidifying a major competitive advantage.
