Hitachi Energy Optimizes High-voltage Service Warehouse in Zurich With AutoStore

Hitachi Energy, a producer of high-voltage energy infrastructure products, faced a significant logistical challenge at its facility in Dietlikon, Switzerland. Following a business transfer that required a shift to storing smaller components, their existing system risked becoming inefficient, requiring more space and leading to longer processing times. To address this, they turned to the vendor AutoStore for an automated warehouse solution.

AutoStore implemented a system utilizing a grid of bins, two R5 robots, and two conveyor ports. This solution optimized the warehouse's existing space and dramatically improved operational efficiency, leading to faster order processing, picking, and shipping. The AutoStore system provided the flexibility Hitachi Energy needed to meet demand while supporting future expansion and maintaining a commitment to energy efficiency.
