FANUC Pertronics doubles production volume

FANUC Pertronics, a Japanese industrial automation equipment manufacturer, faced a challenge with inefficient manual picking processes in its Nagano warehouse. This method consumed significant time and energy as workers walked carts back and forth, which was not a value-adding activity. Seeking to double production volume and improve picking rates without prohibitive cost, the company turned to vendor AutoStore for an automated storage and retrieval system.

AutoStore implemented a tailor-made system consisting of a layered grid with 26,000 bins, 8 ConveyorPorts, and 6 CarouselPorts. The solution from AutoStore drastically reduced lead times from parts delivery to shipping and doubled the company's production volume. Remarkably, this massive increase in output only required two additional employees. The system also provided highly accurate parts management, significantly reduced picking errors, and offered the flexibility for future expansion.
