Eroski Improves Picking Efficiency Fivefold with AutoStore

Eroski, a major Spanish food retailer, faced significant operational challenges at its distribution center, including inefficient manual picking, limited storage capacity, and order inaccuracies. To support its expansion and improve fulfillment for its over 1,600 outlets, the company partnered with vendor AutoStore to implement an automated warehouse system.

AutoStore installed a high-density robotic Grid with 36 robots and ergonomic workstations, integrated with Smartlog's Galys WMS. This solution provided Eroski with a 400% improvement in picking efficiency and a 25% reduction in required storage space, while also achieving 99.7% uptime. The implementation resulted in faster, more accurate order fulfillment and allowed the company to handle greater product volume without expanding its facilities.
