Eco-friendly solution for Berggård Amundsen

The customer, Berggård Amundsen, an electrical wholesaler, faced a challenge with their old warehouse as company growth led to a severe lack of space and inefficient operations that limited their potential. They required a robust and highly efficient system to manage their 11,000 products and meet demanding delivery timelines for their service centers and local electricians. This led them to work with vendor AutoStore to implement its warehouse automation system.

The solution from AutoStore was an 11-robot system that glides across a grid of 17,000 bins to automate order picking. Implemented with partner Element Logic, this solution maximized picking efficiency, with 70% of picks now handled by the system. The results include significantly improved energy efficiency, as the robots consume very little power and even regenerate energy, and the ability to have customer packages ready for pickup just 30 minutes after an order is placed.
