C.E. Pattberg - Customer Case Study

C.E. Pattberg, a German manufacturer of decorative ribbons and gifts, faced challenges with its manual warehouse operations. The process was time-consuming, physically demanding for staff, and resulted in high error rates. The company initially considered another automated system but found it could not accommodate future growth. On the advice of systems integrator Dematic, they turned to the vendor AutoStore for a solution.

AutoStore implemented a compact automated storage and retrieval system featuring a grid with 7,755 bins serviced by 8 robots. This solution dramatically increased efficiency, enabling 1,100 picks per day and reducing the required storage footprint from 6,000 sqm to just 170 sqm. The AutoStore system cut energy and labor costs, slashed error rates, and reduced staff training time to just 10-15 minutes. The CEO credited AutoStore with significantly increasing throughput speed and providing a system that is well-equipped for future expansion.
