BIKE24 Automates Its New Logistics Center With AutoStore

BIKE24, a European online retailer for bicycle parts and accessories, faced the dual challenge of sustaining its double-digit growth and upholding its carbon-neutral commitment without sacrificing profits. To overcome space constraints and expedite deliveries across Europe, the company turned to AutoStore and its automated warehouse storage system, implemented by partner Kardex, for its new logistics center in Barcelona.

The solution involved deploying an AutoStore Grid with 50 robots and 90,000 bins to automate order processing. This system, which works on a goods-to-person principle, doubled the facility's storage capacity and provided a considerable boost in productivity. AutoStore also enabled BIKE24 to exceed its sustainability targets, as the robots use minimal energy and the compact design significantly reduces lighting and other energy costs.
