Balluff GmbH, a global leader in industrial sensor technology, faced storage constraints and demanding fulfillment requirements at its Kentucky facility. The company needed a solution to significantly improve put-away and picking throughput without major facility upgrades or operational disruption. To address this challenge, they again turned to the vendor AutoStore, whose automated storage system had proven successful at another Balluff location.

The solution implemented by AutoStore was a high-density system featuring 7 Red Line robots, 4 workstations, and 20,100 bins, which was integrated with Balluff's SAP warehouse management system. This installation, completed by AutoStore's integration partner Kardex in just six months, resulted in a 177% increase in throughput. The system maximized storage density, allowed for future scalability, and was installed with zero disruption to the customer's ongoing operations.
