AutoStore Revitalizes MAHLE Aftermarket's Order Fulfillment

MAHLE Aftermarket, a global supplier of automotive parts, faced a challenge as customer orders shifted from bulk purchases to smaller, more frequent orders for specialized parts. Their traditional pallet-and-rack system was no longer efficient enough to handle over 100,000 parts. To meet rising demand and fulfill its company-wide digitalization strategy, MAHLE sought an automated solution from vendor AutoStore.

The solution implemented by AutoStore was a modular system featuring 18 robots and 42,000 storage bins serving multiple workstations. This system integrated with MAHLE's existing SAP EWM warehouse management. The vendor's solution dramatically increased storage capacity by up to four times and boosted performance by up to ten times without requiring additional staff, allowing MAHLE to meet current demand and scale for future growth.
